Getting My Culture On
First off, apparently I’m the new official fanboy of Ms. K.A. Tearch.
I was browsing through the WCBU Arts Calendar and reminiscing about the days where I actually, y’know, DID stuff. If anyone out there wants to have a little fun and meet me face to face (so you can tell me off in person or just tag along) I will be attending the following events (blatantly copied and pasted from the WCBU website, the PACVB’s peoria.org, PLUG PLUG):

The Old English Faire is a staple. That one goes without saying. Haven’t thought about the other two, but I’ll look ‘em up.
Either way, I only have this thing filled up until the end of June, so who knows what July and August will bring.

The fine art fair at Junction City is really cool. I took my daughter last year and we really enjoyed it (and got really cute sun catchers for her teachers’ end of year gifts)
I wish I could go to the Louie Louie parade, so fun! But, alas, my “little boy” is graduating from 8th grade that night.

Peoria’s Balloon Festival is fun, but Lincoln also has theirs at the end of August. It’s gotten so big now that they had to move it from the fairgrounds out to the Logan County Airport. They have the balloon launch three times that weekend, and Friday and Saturday night they have the balloon glow, which is really fun to watch.

Olde English Faire?? Never been. Do they have old English Ale?? Must. Have. More. Ale.
May 21st, 2008 at 10:37 pm
Nay, but they have the best fucking homemade root beer you’ll ever drink. And it comes in a sweet blue bottle. :)

It’s true. I have several. Cool thing too, is if I bring ‘em back, I can get ‘em refilled for cheap.

Thank you for giving this useful information regarding the culture. It is very helpful for me a lot.
